Antique hat box, 19th century

A beautiful handmade hat box from the 19th century. The old owner's name, place and date can be seen under the cover.

The hat box is a market gift from Uusikaupunki, "Marknads gåvfa från Nystad", as written under the lid.

The box has been preserved in amazingly good condition, the original leather strap has been restored with an old patinated leather strap. The inside of the box is clean and odorless.
