Enamel Kockums soap holder

Swedish enameled soap bar holder. There is a grate on the bottom of the enamel part of the dish, which can be removed for cleaning. The bottom has the manufacturer's Kockums stamps. The enamel surface is worn from the corners, which gives it an edge.

The Swedish company Kockum started manufacturing enamel household items in Ronneby in 1893. The enamel factory had its heyday in the 1930s. Little by little, however, plastic began to challenge enamel as a material, which drove the Kockums factory into overdrive. It produced its last product, a frying pan, in the 1970s.
