Handsome old Pepsi drink baskets from 1962-1972. The wooden drinking basket has places for 12 bottles. The wooden box is supported by metal edges. The Pepsi text painted in red is clearly visible on both boxes.
These nice Pepsi baskets are rare in Finland. Vintagetall has previously had only one of them. The age of the baskets can be estimated from the fact that Kokis's strongest competitor used the font in question in those years 62-72.
The boxes are multi-purpose, suitable as a shelf or as a drinking basket in the sauna.
Did you know that in 1893, pharmacist Caleb Bradham started making a cola drink called "Brad's Drink". The ingredients were water, caramel, lemon, sugar, kola nuts, nutmeg and other additives. Later, as the drink's popularity grew, Bradham changed the name to a more salable one, Pepsi-Cola. He started selling the drink at his drugstore in downtown New-Bern, North Carolina.
The name Pepsi-Cola was used between 1906 and 1962, after which the name was shortened to simply Pepsi. Pepsi first came to Finland in 1944.
